So If you recently bought an expensive GPU you may want to return it, because… Your RTX 3080 is pretty much now worthless, or at least it’s about to be compared to its launch MSRP.

But why is the 3080 about to lose all its value, well Nvidia’s going to be launching new cards like the RTX 4090 and 4080 VERY soon, and every time new cards launch the old ones lose about half their value, but this time it’s even worse.

The RTX 4090 will be nearly 2x as fast as the RTX 3090, and we haven’t seen a performance jump like that in a long time.

I absolutely disagree with your statement. Not everyone has a budget to spend on brand new expensive cards. RTX 3080/3080 Ti's are a golden spot for many gamers out there.

No!! Your GPU will not be worthless at all after the lunch just because a newer shinier GPU comes out dose not mean your old card got slower over night! The 30 series cards will live on for years to come especially the higher spec cards like 3080s they run games beautifully today and in a couple days time when 40 series drops that will not change!

The most important thing is price: while the 6500xt launched everyone complained about its performance and the ×4 pcie4.0, but the real problem was the price. A 6500xt at 180 dollars is kinda shitty, at 90 dollars is an absolute best buy. Now (in the Italian market, where I live) some 3080 are sold for about 700/800 dollars, Wich is about 30% less than the 3080 12G and half of the 16G MSRP (the prices will be much higher at the launch, as we have always seen) a 3080 at 800 dollars now is an incredibly valuable card and (considering that the dlss 2.0 will continue to be used in new titles) isn't a bad card to buy now at all

But that’s not a bad thing. These RTX 30 series are well above the needed performance grade that you will need. So if they drop in price, everybody will be able to afford 3090’s!
