I never really minded the part where Ravenpaw was a smug jerk. I always saw it as him putting on a show for Tigerclaw as a coping mechanism for his anxiety. "If I act tough, he'll be proud of me, he won't yell, and I'll just cry in my nest later tonight" sort of thing.

So I just finished reading Redtail‘s Debt in German (Rotschweifs Schuld) and I came to the realization that in this translation, Oakheart is not killed by Redtail, but by the rocks, as described in the forest of secrets.

I'd really love a talking/mini-talking about Brambleberry. She's a character that stands out to me for being one of the very few characters that didn't use or dislike Crookedstar in some way, as well as being the only good mother figure he had- including or excluding Mapleshade, depending on if you see her as toxically motherly or not.

i've always kind of loved how he's written in redtail's debt ngl. he seems like such a people pleaser-type and seeing that being his downfall was kind of neat. i know it's pretty common for warriors characters to be like that but there's something about how he's written there that makes me appreciate the story a bit more, even if it's got some issues lol

I'm four minutes in and will delete if I am proven wrong by you bringing this up later but there is one other place Redtail appears as an adult: in the very very end of Bluestar's Prophecy, which is also what confirmed Ravenpaw's personality pre-murder. He was a senior and wise deputy at that point in time which is frankly the only thing I know for sure about this guy.

PLEASE talk about Shellheart, Crookedstar’s father!! I love him so much and I think how him and his former mate broke up is so interesting because they never really have cat parents who “break up”. I adore how kind he is as a father to his son and he’s a super underrated character!

I always thought that Sol was infertile as a male tortie, because of that one queen who asked if her kits were Sol's said dreamingly that "she'd wished" as if she maybe tried to have kits with him but it didn't work.
