How To Break In A Baseball Glove 2024 (DON'T DO WHAT I DID)

❗️ If you need me to Break-In your baseball glove click here👇

Our new glove break in method is officially my favorite approach. Nothing beats good ole catch but the room temperature water helps a ton!
Just to be clear I am generally disappointed with this pattern from Steelo but the break in itself went perfect!

i wish i had my dad to play catch with 😢. My dad passed away a few years ago but i would do anything to just have some time to play catch with him again. For those who read this, If you still have your dad don’t take him for granted. if you can’t play catch with him at least sit down and watch and talk baseball with him.

Your videos have brought back some memories of me and my dad breaking in gloves when i was playing so thank you for the work you put into them my brother. God bless!!

Your videos have helped me a lot in breaking in my sons glove. He’s had hell catching baseballs due to only being his second season he’s not very good at catching yet and just by breaking in the glove with what you’ve shown in the video, it’s helped out his catching ability a ton.

Hey man just wanted to thank you just got my whole family gloves to goof off with but watching your video really helped give me the confidence to shape the gloves. Keep up the good work.

I’ve only broke in one glove this way before. Playing primarily first base as well as 3rd and left field I guess I just caught so many balls that my gloves always broke in quickly. It wasn’t until I spent my own money on a glove that I really liked that I took the time to shape it and break it in.

Have you ever tried turning a glove inside out for a few minutes? Really helps tretch those palm laces. 5lb dumbbells also work well instead of a mallet

This is probably out there somewhere but after doing all the normal pounding and water, know you have to hit the dry glove to re-loosen it and I decided to try out using my theragun type of massage gun with a bigger ball tip on it and actually went great to loosen up the glove more.

What is the difference in the break-in process when doing traditional vs two in the pinky?

Love the video! Any advice for an Irish guy, who's new to baseball on breaking in a Rawlings Player Preferred budget range glove (12.5"), mostly on their own? Aside from the mallet poundings, are there any good solo catch drills to help break it in and build hand strength to make it close properly?

The sport is very uncommon here so playing catch with a team mate is only available every few weeks at practice and none of my local friends are into the sport or will even consider it 😢

How would you toss a ball and catch it to get the shapes shown in your video? Thanks!

I finally gave in and bought a Rawlings REV. I’m assuming break in will be different due to the materials the glove is made of. Do you have any advice?

Hi Chris, any experience with breaking in an a2000 1786 with a large amount snakeskin? A friend of mine got a Wilson a2000 1786, “Kala Koa” and were curious if we can use the water treatment on it.

Just wondering if you had any experience with it and any tips to keep from it from cracking while we work on it.

Any help from others in the comments would be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks!

I just received a new Wilson A2K catchers mitt for father's day. It is so stiff; it will be a daunting process to break-in.
