Barbasol used to have lanolin oil, and worked well for breaking in a glove. Barbasol no longer has lanolin and may be damaging your leather.

What you should use instead of shaving cream is a glove conditioner. But Wilson or Rawlings one buy the Nokona or Sarna

Using shaving cream apparently makes your glove heavier. Use simmering water. MUCH more affective anyway
