Because when they do not shut off the main electrical supply for the are the firemen get shork. And the water is also good conductor of heat. In our house the water is not distilled. It can be dangerous to stop fire when the electric supply of area is not shut off. So, they do this.

answer 1 . no pure water or distilled water does not conduct electricity because it do not have any salts dissolved inside, so how they can break into ions and conduct electricity,
to make it conducting we can add salt or acid or base . thus, after it can break into ions in the electrotyle .mannu bhaiya :D
ANSWER 2 : THE ELECTRICANS CUT OFF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN THE FIRE CASE BEACUSE AS WE KNOW IT CAN LEAD THEM TO ELECTRIC SHOCK ....
THANK YOU MANNY BHAIYA :D

Ans. The water used in water hoses is not pure water and it conducta electricity. Firemen
shut off the main electrical supply of the area because if the supply of electricity
continues there may be high risk of electrocution in the whole area due to water.

Ans. Because the water contained in the water 💧 hoses is not pure water which is conductor of electricity. So the fireman switch off the main power supply before spraying water to save himself and other people from electrocution.

Question1. Does pure water conducts electricity? If not, then what can we do to make it conducting?
Answer. Pure water does not conducts any electricity because it does not have any salts or minerals dissolved in it(and if a substance does not have any acid, bases or salts dissolved in it, it is unable to conduct electricity). Therefore, to make water a good conductor of electricity we should add some salt, acid(such as vinegar) or base(such as baking soda) in it.

Question2
Answer: Water is a good conductor of electricity. So, if the electrical supply for the area is not shut off and water is spread over electrical appliances, then electricity may pass through water and harm the firemen. Therefore, in case of a fire, the firemen shut off the main electrical supply for the area before they use the water hoses.
