When we insert electric wires in potato(i.e. a solid substance ), Ma'am, it reacts with the potato and changes its color to green. So, here we can clearly see that chemical change is taking place in solid substances (i.e., potato). But ma'am as you have taught us in the lesson, it becomes false as you have taught us that in solids no chemical effects will take place.
