Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it. Indeed, we ask for help not because we are weak but because we want to remain strong 🖖

Hey Simon.
Part of being raw, vulnerable, authentic, bold... etc. includes the truth. Why can't we tell the cold, hard, freeing, bare bones, uncomfortable truth all the time? Why can't we just let our yes be yes and our no be no? Literally.

My boss just had to announce to our whole retail team that our hours are being cut due to recouping for losses made in 2020 due to covid (this was a decision made from her bosses!). And we all knew this was coming either way, but she showed vulnerability and we support her all the more for it.
I’m thankful to have a real leader in the workplace

Having that *one person* you could call for *candid unbiased feedback* after a meeting, is key🔑 and unfortunately rare to find.

I had one and I can't tell you how much it's helped. Also recording Zoom meetings and replaying it back.

I remember my boss showed her vulnerability two years ago. I don't think that she's weak. It made me feel that I want to support her, fight with her during the time of uncertainty.

Thank you so much for that *suggestion*. It really made me understand, ***_just because you are scared...doesn't mean you are weak._* 😊😊

Very nice ❤, but there is a point, what about the enemies ? They can play at that weakness and scared the persons to run away, also some personalities are pessemistic and will be a source of negative energy to others at that situation

Another way to start small is to first ask yourself: "When's the _last_ time I was vulnerable with my (team, dept., company, etc.)?" If you've never been vulnerable with them before, chances are it'll be weird for them, maybe even backfire a little. But it paves the way for more vulnerability to be welcome in the future if they know *why* you're being vulnerable now, and it helps establish that culture of trust.

Thanks for saying that. Feels like someone understands what I've been through

Yes sure we cannot be certain in certain situations yet a remarkable leader will try to plan, guide and provide other options. Oh yes we need "spies" usually our friends give us the honest feedback we need to grow.

I am on a journey to start being vulnerable by documenting my journey through YouTube, had a meeting with someone in the industry and I almost cried during the meeting because it became real to me this is what I want to do. Have no clue how to do it but I will find a way

You say this stuff at work and you’ll get the blank stare. Next project comes up and oh, your name didn’t come up.

"I fear that I can not be there for you guys" sounds so much better than "I don't know why I didn't do the work but I will work harder" or saying nothing at all. I would have done one of the latter. Those videos are so good for me
