By 2050, 7 in 10 of us could live in “megacities,” cities of at least 10 million people. What does this mean for the future?

Lagos and Karachi are full of slums and extreme poverty. they need population control

I prefer living in a city that's just a little above one million. It's the perfect size. Not too many skyscrapers, but I'm living in one of them, so I can see most of the city far below me.

Anything over 5 million people in a metro area is no no for me. Everything becomes to expensive and taxes become to high.

According to Wikipedia, the city with the highest population density is Manila with 107, 562 people per square mile. Paris, at number 21, has a population density of 55, 673 people per square mile. You really don't know anything about population densities, do you?

Love it how they didn't talk about Mexico City even though it's the largest mega city in the Western Hemisphere

I love big cities but some of those are too big. I don't like going above the size of New York or London lol

I live in a city where the population is just about 130, 000 here in the Philippines and I am very happy not living in Manila.

As interesting as this sounds, few good things can come from living in a mega city. I currently live in Mexico City, where crime, pollution and water shortages are serious issues. I already accepted how overcrowded it is, but my biggest concern is water. Granted, once I retire, I'll move somewhere else.

"The question is, which end of the spectrum will you become?" ?? I would say the question is what can we do to help prevent the inequality of these megacities and to facilitate more equalized megacities.

And then all of them will migrate to EU. :)))

Here in Germany, it would be bad to move to the capital, because of overcrouding and lower payments than in other regions of the country.

You should have mentioned Jingjinji. A megacity more likely to materialise than Shenzhen-Hong Kong.

Instead of making development in present big cities new cities should be created in remote places so that they can be managable.
