Of course none of these are in the US. Not surprised since our infastructure is awful cuz we spend all our money on war.

Imagine how clean the world would be if every city went clean

We should apply these principles to already existing cities which form the majority of cities in the world. If we can implement them in one city, we can implement them throughout the world. Sustainable infrastructure is inevitable but the sooner we get it done the better.

There is one thing I was wondering about this, will the majority of these cities and buildings be available to the general public. If the aim is sustainability, we'll never reach it if only the wealthy can afford it. Also, shouldn't we be upgrading, our old buildings and houses instead of creating new ones?

Really like these concepts, but i think we should focus in already existing cities and see how we can improve them, there’s so much more history in them, something new is always good but will never feel like home.

Building new cities where there were none … and fluffing them up with greenery & green wash rather than retrofitting existing older cities is not very green at all.

Seeing how it takes 3 years to add one lane of highway. I'll believe it when I see it.

Traditional architecture should be the future.

Indian smart cities like GIFT in the state of Gujarat and Amaravati in the state of Andhra Pradesh were both stated to be completed by 2025 but alas the sluggish pace of construction of these 2 mega projects that it would be completed by 2035.

I think if you are going to make a city from scratch you should start in a polluted air where the water isn't clean and it full of co2 so you don't disturb the natural surroundings and pollute any water or air.

Are they really sustainable or do they just look nice?

Sarif was right about one thing. It's in our nature to want to rise above our limits. Think about it. We were cold, so we harnessed fire. We were weak, so we invented tools. Every time we met an obstacle, we used creativity and ingenuity to overcome it. The cycle is inevitable.

My idea of future cities would be the entire city inside of a single structure that uses moving walkways and high-speed elevators for all transportation. The structure would either be designed like an artificial tree where the branches would support the growth of the city's food, or another form of structure possibly a pyramid that will allow crops to be grown vertically instead of stretched out along the ground. To be in a large city and think about it is to realize the insane amount of space, fuel, and electricity that is wasted on vehicles that are moving nowhere near their potential.

None of them, really. I'll stick to the rural areas. Lot's more space and privacy.

I really love floating city concepts. Fish and floating farms...sounds like paradise.

Perfect video for education and the future. I just wonder, how much the CO2 emission and the raw materials, fx sand and gravel for cement and beton (the global sand-crisis), influence the plans for green development. If we still use beton for the building industry

Very relevant for the future of the cities might be fabcity initiative. (fab.city ) For example, Paris and Barcelona are part of it. Basically, this is like the bottom-up initiative to make cities that already exist greener.
