The western region of the US is home to a sleeping monster. It periodically stirs, but it hasn't awoken from its sleep in about 70,000 years. Scientists such as Neil deGrasse Tyson worry that when it does awaken, it may wreak havoc on the world drastically changing everything we know. In a stunning revelation that has shaken the scientific community, the Yellowstone National Park Monitoring System has now recorded an unprecedented event—a sudden 250% surge in activity.

We were in Yellowstone about three weeks ago. New geysers had sprung up in the side of the road pavement and they were having to redirect traffic around it.

I was 150 miles north of Mt. St Helen's at precisely 8:30 am. I heard a tremendous distant explosion that caused the house to rattle for a second. I dismissed it to demolition work. I was in Anchorage Alaska the afternoon that Mt. Spur erupted. Within a half hour, day turned into night. The next day, the city handed out masks to everyone. About one inch of ash.

If this comes to pass, those of us who live close (120 miles form the park) would be the lucky ones. We'd have just enough just time to look up and say "Oh shi...." The rest of you would have to deal with world-wide nuclear winter and at least half of the US becoming uninhabitable I think I'm glad I live close.

I remember when Mount Saint Helens erupted. I was 5 and we lived in Vancouver Wash. My mom had pictures of me riding my big wheel through the layer of ash on the ground.

Volcanology isn’t Neil’s specialty, this guy puts his 2 cents into every study. Volcanologists stated that the caldera under Yellowstone last erupted over 600, 000 years ago, it’s well overdue according to the experts.

It's nice to know that when Yellowstone actually starts to go off. No one's gonna believe any videos on here. Because they all say the same thing about how it's about to go off

We just had a bunch of earthquakes in Yellowstone park today

The thing to remember is this. A super eruption isn't likely anytime soon. If their time estimate about previous super eruptions is accurate.
But the bad news is Yellowstone is due any time for another eruption.

There was an earthquake in the Wabash Valley faultline in the SW corner of Indiana in the late 60's. I was in the town library in Tipton Indiana, 40 miles north of Indy. We felt it in the library and it's knocked over book shelves and a 6 ft stuffed bear. They expect a big one to hit sooner than hoped for.

Keep water around to moisten cloth to put over your face, nose and mouth when you breathe to keep out glass, debret and sand for breathing better.

If yellowstone is going to blow, there is little next to nothing anyone can do to stop it! All one can do is either move now, or run fast as it happens!
