Compilation of Rohan and Gondor Themes

I went through some of the soundtracks of the various LOTR movies and put in the variations of the violin themes of Rohan, and the Gondor theme as well parts that I really enjoyed listening too. Few movies out there have a soundtrack that is as awe-inspiring and jaw dropping as the score for the Lord of the Rings.

Some people think fellowship is the best

Some people think towers is the best

But we can all agree that the ride of the Rohirrim at minas tirith is the greatest scene in cinematic history

This trilogy is one of those where even if you have watched it 100 times and it has come again on the television, you would still watch it whilst quoting favourite scenes 👌🏼

"Hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship…but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down. But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, men of the west!"

Tolkien died in the year 1973, let that sink in, 1973
3 rings for the elvenlord under the sky
7 for the dwarves in their halls of stone
9 for mortal men
1 for the dark lord on its dark throne in mordor where shadows lie

Every time I listen to this music, I find myself wanting to either watch the Extended editions again, and/or play Third Age - Total War. Hell, maybe do both at the same time.

Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The White Tower of Ecthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze. Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver day, our paths will lead us there and the tower guard will take up the call: The Lords of Gondor have returned.

12:00 I can't watch the fires of Gondor lit without crying! And when Aragorn runs into the Golden Hall and brings this plea for aid before Theoden, I always hold my breath until he answers.

I know he is going to say yes – but just imagine, what would have become of Middle Earth, would he refuse…

There will be a day when the hearts of men fail and we won't be able to enjoy beautiful music like this.... BUT IT IS NOT THIS DAY

The Rohan theme is just epic. It raises my hairs whenever I hear a chord or two.

“Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden!
Fell deeds awake, fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!”

― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
