NO MORE WAVERLY?? | Walmart's NEW Hello Hobby Chalk Paint VS. WAVERLY Chalk Paint | Is It As Good???

NEW Hello Hobby VS WAVERLY CHALK PAINT. If you’re like me, your Walmart is no longer carrying Waverly Chalk Paint. Which is extremely sad in my opinion. They have replaced it with a new chalk paint called Hello Hobby. From what I have gathered, Walmart is no longer carrying Waverly Chalk Paint, and they have come out with their own line of chalk paint. I have had a lot of viewers tell me their Walmarts still carry Waverly, and then a lot of others say theirs also no longer carries Waverly and they now have Hello Hobby. I have searched online for Waverly, and it is super limited on what I can get as well as marked down, which leads me to believe they are phasing Waverly Chalk Paint out.
So in this video, I am going to compare the two paints together. Waverly Chalk Paint is super popular in the crafting world, so I had to know if the new Hello Hobby Chalk Paint came close to the quality that Waverly Chalk Paint has.

Hey Liz! I reached out to Plaid, who is the makers of Waverly chalk paint. They told me that some Walmarts made some changes to thier modular program so if you don't see it at your normal Walmart then it is likely available at a near by Walmart and you can always order it online! So Waverly isn't going anywhere, you just might have to go to another store or order online at Walmart or Plaid online. (I reached out on thier Facebook page but can share the screen shot of thier response to anyone who is interested) 😍❤

Liz, it's simple really... Walmart wants to profit from the booming chalk paint market. They get rid of their main competitor in their stores and replace it with their products. It's about money. Try adding some water to the new wax. See if thinner is better. Love your channel and products ❣💕😊

I've always made my own chalk paint from the sample paint from Home Depot (7oz) a 1/4 cup plaster of paris and a 1/4 cup water. I've never had a problem and the finish is beautiful!

Waverly by Plaid, Folk Art by Plaid. I would go to Folk Art before resorting to Walmart brand.

I asked someone at Walmart and they said they are no longer carrying Waverly in the store. So I ordered a lot of the Antique Wax online. I emailed Plaid and asked what's going on and apparently, Walmart didn't let them in on the secret. They said it is made exclusively for Walmart and available online if not in my store. Not now. Not a smart move by Walmart at all.

I'm so boggled by them discontinuing waverly. I do believe that all the diy YouTube channels have a big voice and hopefully they are listening and will some how bring it back. Tfs

It looks to me like those paints are performing like a basic acrylic paint versus a chalk paint.

I have three Walmarts locally still carrying and stocking Waverly. I like the hellohobby brand.i personally like that hello hobby is thicker I can make it stretch by adding a medium!

So typical that they're replacing a popular, quality product with a lesser quality imitation for the same price. Just wait though, the price will go up *real* soon. It's how they roll! I wish I didn't have to shop there at all, but... Waverly!

Fortunately, the three stores near me all have plenty of stock on their shelves, so I will definitely be stocking up before it's gone! I would like to say if anyone needs any, we who are fortunate to still have access to it could send some to those in need, but with USPS prices going up *again* in August, it'll probably cost an arm and a leg just to send one bottle! Still might be worth it though.... ;)

I love Waverly but my store don't carry it either. I was at my store when they put them on clearance and I bought a bunch of it.

Thank you so much! I've heard "whispers" of no more Waverly but could not confirm or find explanations anywhere until your video. Not only do I feel I finally got REAL information here but an honest review of Wal-Mart's replacement chalk paint. Waverly is more than a staple in my craft supplies...its essential..a must have. :(

Our Walmart in Canada doesn't sell "Waverly" they sell the same thing but it's named "Folkart". I haven't seen the Hello Hobby yet. I have to order most of mine on amazon.
