My tone was great after your training. With my mom telling me how she was watching and talking with family members that passed already I could ask her questions and that kept her happy. No corrections. No telling them they passed. Just a nice question, calm, holding her hand. Making sure I had a smile on my face and eyes giving her hope. ❤

Thank you 🦋. I can see my dad looking at mom and my conversations as though he’s not picking up what we’re saying. I’ll tell mom that I’m going to slow down and speak so that dad’s in the loop. I love him so much!

My mom is just starting to decline and I was wondering why she was misinterpreting all of my communication. It's because I am tense because it's very unnerving. So now I will try to deep breathe and be better

My partner developed dementia 20 years ago she is improving her brain power every day and at 83 is in perfect health physicaly. The secret I told her then I was losing my memory and I needed her help to stay alive .She helped me to walk on her arm every day .She helped me to talk she helped me to cook, she washed up .Give your partner a responsible role and her brain may respond

Not only all of the above for body language, but my mom is also now deaf(and it brought on the dementia even more rapidly). So I have to write down 95% of what I say! Sometimes she doesn’t “get” my vocabulary;admittedly I read a lot(no tv).So I have to find easier words and pretend she is 3, not 93

Thank you for so much great advice! My mom has early onset alzheimers. It's so tough!! Her Neurologist talks fast. I think i need to start asking her to slow down, or repeat for mom?

Thank you.
When they search for words, Do we try to guess at the words/ thought?
They look so frustrated when they are trying to talk.

When I tried giving you a thumbs up, I got a met quota notification. Perhaps others tried liking your post but weren’t allowed
