SHOULD YOU START HOTSHOT TRUCKING IN 2025

Time for our annual video on if you should start hotshot trucking. Every year for the last 4 years we have made this video and I never watch the video from the year past, so I can give my honest non-bias views on whether you should jump in or not. I hope you enjoy!

I looked at hotshot but after seriously looking at it I decided to drive for TMC for a year to learn flatbed. Then I bought a 2005 Kenworth W900 with a platinum overhaul on a CAT engine. Paid way less than my RAM 3500. While I don’t get the mileage of a new truck it’s easy to work on and maintain myself.

Ram 3500 cab and chassis aisen transmission I’ve got 5k on it. Planning on getting 350k at least. I’ve deleted and tuned my truck it was the first thing I did. I’m running a diamond C sdx step deck 40k trailer. Pulling 20k plus 12k trailer weight. Wish me luck

U can buy a used semi for 35k and a used trailer for 20k

The principal is the same, the time on the equipment is different. You have to set 10% of your gross to prepare to buy your new truck in 5 years

Typical u tuber trying be trucker on 1 year plan but I’m not knocking you. You have survived you give best information. I watch for entertainment an see how market is treating everyone else. People think I need dully an trailer I’m set ready work. Wrong i have not seen one u tuber build a sustainable hot shot business have not seen 1 u tuber build a correct or sustainable hot shot truck for what one ual spends on new truck an trailor I can take half that money an have hot shot set up that will sustain ten year run. Wanna know how get me on I’ll teach ual about trucking I’m not greedy I follow Jesus help next person even if it sinks you. So I watched a video about a truck motor with 900k on it and it was still almost brand new. They had an extra bypass oil filter on it from Dave’s auto repair Utah. Motor would have still been going but had a part failure but they said the motor would have gone another 900k miles easily.
