the awesome time-lapse star shots make me feel like a bug on a giant spinning rock, but in a good way.

Breathtaking my friend. I am trying to learn the star field time laps but kind of hard when you fall asleep before they come out lol

Amazing stuff!  Really outstanding.

Which lens did you use for the star stuff?  Looks too wide to be the 50mm f/1.4.  When you get time, mess around with that faster lens.  In theory, in theory, the faster lenses will produce different results.  I recently (like, within nine months "recently") picked up the Nikkor 55mm f/1.2 -- and the damn thing is so "fast" that -- even with my ND filter at max -- everything is too damn bright to use during daytime.

Hello! Beautiful movies! I am going to new zealand soon and would like some tips if you have the time. I have the tripod, D7100, 10-20mm 3.5 sigma and a 17-70m 2.8-4 sigma lenses, as well as a programmable remote. What settings do you recommend for making a smooth star lapse? I don't want star trails, but rather a movie like you've made. Do I take test shots first? ISO 400-800? About 10-20s exposure?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Rogier.

beautiful.  You've inspired a similar trailer for our channel...simply gorgeous.  You have another subscriber -- if the other 2, 000+ weren't good enough haha
