I love that you're trying to make memento mori sound more optimistic; along with your idea to try to convey the idea of making the most of life, there's also memento mori's counterpart "memento vivere" which means "remember that you have to live"

As someone who experienced Unus Annus in its entirety, I learned a lot about not taking life, and the people in it, for granted. Momento Mori is much more than just "remember death". It is remembering that we are all the same and that if we don't chase our dreams now, or "say the weird thing" we will never get another chance to do it. So, go out there. Do what makes your heart happy and live your life to its fullest. And appreciate the ones in your life. Take care of yourselves.
