As a young San Jose Police officer in the early 70's ... I worked the night shift and was friends with a local DJ ... During my dinner break I would stop in the radio station with my fast food to chat with him ...  He would always ask me what I wanted to hear and this was my favorite song at that time .... so he would play it over the air ... Who would have thought it would be that special almost 50 years later ..

The Carpenters lived in Downey, Calif.  We also lived there, worked at North American Aviation in the 1950's.
