She sounded better in person than in a studio. That is rare talent. She was a beautiful soul and such a rare talent. Her soul just shines. That she could never get the love she needed is so sad. Her voice is that of an angel.

I'm a session drummer who played with alot of people in the 1970's & 1980's, I was in California when Karen was singing Rainy day's in the same studio, when she started to sing you couldn't hear a pin drop everybody was so star struck when she started to sing & I've been around alot of stars but boy oh boy this woman was fabulous and her drumming was great, R.I.P. karen I miss you and talking to you may God bless your soul.amen. 💔💔💔💔

This is what excellence in musicianship sounds like.
They are all really good, but the fact that Karen Carpenter was equally talented as a singer and a drummer is amazing.

The fact that she could do both at the same time so well, put's her in a class of true elites.

More talent in her little finger than 90% of today's female entertainers have in their whole bodies. R.I.P. Lead Sister

I saw Led Zeppelin in Dallas in 1971. I saw the Carpenters in Fort Worth in 1972. I am 72 years old as of today, and I feel incredibly lucky to have seen both of those shows.

It is raining. It is Monday. Life is good because angelic Karen Carpenter is singing away this lonely clown’s blues. Thank you.

So much talent she sang and played the drums effortlessly. This song is absolutely beautiful!

Effortless talent.

She had the kind of voice that seemed like she just opened her mouth and this gorgeous and perfectly rich toned sound poured out like honey.

Its so profoundly sad when such beauty is not recognized by the one who possesses it.
We all have an appointed time to leave this life so there is no reason to expedite it's time of arrival. Life is so precious.

I still get chills from hearing her sing AND play drums simultaneously! An irreplaceable talent..I literally stop whatever I'm doing to hear HER..not one singer in a million could do that, especially while making live sound better than studio..I'm a musician with perfect pitch, just not the voice to go with it, like she has..and believe me, no autotune, etc. can match it with her..100% talent, period..I played some of their songs in high school, still love them..

Effortless, drumming, effortless singing. Some people say “a gift from God“. I’ll go along with that but that girl worked her tail off at her craft, and man does it show !
❤ Karen Carpenter forever❤

Hearing Karen's voice, and the instrumentals and backing vocals, is like sonically coming home in a place of beauty and peace. Especially Karen's vocals communicate this rare sense of familiarity and sanctuary for the soul. She was a living diamond that shone but for a while in this dark world.
