Hi, I think that the topic of "keeping the passion" is general.

I'm a programmer (of course, I'm thinking about getting a private pilot license), I always liked programming, but I had a few "down" or "burnout" moments. They came and go. I've learned that this is common in every field. There's no man who had not had any doubts whether he was doing the right thing in his life.

I think that we just need to keep in mind that bad moments will come. The most important thing is that they will come and go. The passion is always inside us. It never days. It just has some "down" moments (from time to time).

Keep up the good work. ; )

Thank you so much. I am a pilot, retired from one of the major airlines, now flying a small 2-seater, and enjoying flight simulation as well. Excellent message to someone like me. Thank you, Sir!

I have looked around myself sooo many times, and yes, I think it is absolutely true, it makes you feel good, privileged to be up there doing what is only the beginning of a dream which will one day be you everyday life.
Just finished my FAA to EASA conversion.
Will attend MCC and JOC from next Monday!

One step closer every day!
Good luck to us all for the future!!

Thats really true, take a moment out of your day and just take it all in, remember where you where and take a look at everything you have achieved thus far. I did exactly that what you were saying abouy flying solo, where I just thought to myself, WOW this is it, living the dream whether I was flying a C172 or a B737 it wouldn't have made a difference.

What you said is very important - we are Humans. Some times we can't even really know why we are feeling in a certain way, or why we are in a certain mood, but there are situations that can make us feel like that that we would not say they would.
For example when going through my training (I'm still doing the ATPL, fortunately) there have been times in a flight where I've thought "How can I be a pilot if I can't do deal with this?" (It was a thought I had when approaching an aerodrome while I was getting motion sickness, getting a bit stressed at the same time dealing with a crosswind and I didn't really want to be doing that and rather resting).
If the passion is really there and that's what you want, these surely will only happen periodically like in this example of mine - and It was not the only time it has happened, and it has happened to some friends in the course with a great passion for aviation as well.

Sometimes when facing our difficulties we can get sad and in a mood that leads us to think this way, specially when remembering the great effort that is for us to be in this course (financially speaking). This is a pretty tough course, even if one is good, because we know how good we have to be to get in the business, but we have to relax and take our time... Something can be hard when faced for the first time but we shall not focus on it... We have to over it, afterall, we are pilots :)

Thank you Mentour, for yet another great video!

Hey Mentour, I just want to say how grateful I am for your videos ann where they have got me. I now have my medical booked for the end of April, and I'll be commencing my training in June at SFC, which is funny because a lot of the graduates form SFC go onto work for a certain low cost European airline that flies the NG. Maybe I will see you in person one of these days. lol

Thanks for posting this! I feel exactly like the student you mentioned; I abandoned my CPL training about halfway through. I've been thinking a lot about finishing it lately and this video was very motivational!

Hi Mentour Pilot, first of all thank you very much for this great channel. I am a pilot candidate and within a few weeks I have a very important interview with one of the world’s biggest airline companies and probably that day will be the most important day of my life. I watch every single video on your channel and take notes because there are lots of valuable information in all of your podcasts. Also your positive manner and constructive comments are really admirable. I hope I can be your colleague, because I really really want to. I will be looking forward to your future podcasts.

It’s nice to meet you, you are FANTASTIC!
