Making your own mustard at home is as easy as 1, 2, 3 in mustard seeds, water and vinegar! Watch this mustard recipe where I show you just how easy it is to make homemade mustard that has no artificial ingredients, preservatives or additives.

A recent trip to the grocery store got me realising just how many ingredients there are in the mass produced food that we eat. Sauces are by far the worst. Sauces are often jammed full of fillers, preservatives, flavourants, colourants and a wide range of artificial ingredients. It's incredibly sad to see how little of the actual food item we buy the food for is present in the food we eat! The one bottle of store-bought mustard only had 5% mustard powder. The rest were things like corn starch, flour and an endless list of preservatives.

Not only are those ingredients not meant to be consumed by humans, they cause damage and severely impact our inflammation levels. Besides that, making your own mustard at home is incredibly easy and cheap. It only takes 3 core ingredients and less than 5 minutes to complete. You then have the option to tailor the flavour to exactly your liking with a range of additional ingredients you can add straight from the garden.

Homemade country-style mustard ingredient list

- 1/2 cup cold water
- 3 tablespoons vinegar of your choice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric with black pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey

Thank you! Now I need to start growing mustard. I didn't know it was so easy to make. I recently made mayonnaise for the first time with a canola blend oil and it came out really good. Then I tried with sunflower oil (twice) and it was absolutely awful! Olive oil is so expensive and some people say it has a strange taste in mayonnaise. I don't know but I'm looking forward to your video.

Fantastic! As it happens I’m working on making my own condiments and I can’t wait for the mayo video. I tried it once and it was a flop. (I did however find out what the hole in the blender lid is useful for so it wasn’t a complete disaster.) 🥴

Thank you for making this super interesting video! I want to make this recipe but I don't like to use vinegar. Do you think using lemon juice in its place will work?

Thanks for the video. I have never seen a 16 ingredient mustard. Did you find the most complicated mustard to compare to. 95% of mustard is sans 5 ingredients. With vinegar being the preservative. Nothing more. Nothing less

You really should show people how to use plants to be sustainable with "mayo". Everybody will have aquafaba if not eggs. Maybe show both ways.. please.

You are also using "Stabilizers, preservatives, colorants, ect" and they are not necessarily unhealthy. You have a good recipe, but you're wrong to say yours is healthy and sustainable.
