Let's get rid of the two person rule, make everyone in a leadership position mandatory reporters, include sisters to balance out committe meetings, no more disfellowshiping, get rid of all the blood rules and make it a conscience matter, zero tolerance for pedifiles and perpetraitors...that would be a start.

I'm a current Witness. I started growing my beard back in October. I told my local elders that the no beard requirement wasn't scriptural. I gave them my Bible based reasons and left it at that.

I 100% agree with what you guys said about a shift/awakening! That's what I've been saying, I can feel it. Even a cousin of mine who was pretty close minded had a spiritual awakening (in her own way) and she's grown a lot mentally/emotionally as have I. I’m so glad I’m free from that cult lol…Y’all know what’s crazy? Is only a few years ago, my 22 yr old son at the time was studying and the elder that he was studying with told him he wasn’t allowed to have a beard and my son asked why? The elder gave a non biblical, made no sense explanation, it was the breaking point for my son. So now seeing how they change up again is insane. It’s all confirmation tho how they are deceiving the blind with doctrines of devils, it’s all to keep people bound. ⛓️If you are a JW please get out while you can. You are not only deceived about minuscule things like the beard issue but your deceived about who God really is and your salvation. JW’s are thieves and robbers.. Rutherford was the one who started the "no beards allowed" rule, because he had resentment against the Bible Students who still held reverence for Russell, who had a very full beard. He didn't want the brothers to continue to carry that look, reminding of Russell. It was nothing but a petty resentment.

That shows you how controlling they are over their members. They can just tell them, what to do and what not to do. For decades. One thing was not OK to do. Then, all of a sudden. They make it OK. Or vice versa. If that thing is not a cult. I don't know what is.

Hopefully this new change wakes up some people. I like how he said "clarify this matter" when they been knowing the whole time it was WT imposing their view on the rank and file not the bible's point view as there is no biblical basis to not wear a beard

Soon before left in 2015, grew a beard. Elders told me could still knock on doors, but not present a talk at meetings. Strike One. After a few months at meetings, , finally clued in my raised hand to share a comment was consistently ignored. Strike Two. Soon after, elders set up a meeting . Reported seen going to a yoga class. Ordered to stop Strike Three. Resigned same week. Pretty sure was on on way to being disfellowshipped anyways. Both sides relived to see me go.

Only in for four years. In on own. Out on own. No family connections. No deep social ties. For me, a painless separation. In fact a relief.. If though, in your case, the roots go deeper, feel for you. Shunned and treated as a non person likely hurts.

Was my time in all a bad experience? No. Learned a lot. Christendom largely does get it wrong. A good grounding on biblical knowledge. Respect for some of the members. Then and still. Of course we have parted ways.

Asking myself if am sharing my story as subconscious guilt? No, I believe its because I care for you May you find your own path. Peace be with you.

Around 4 : 20 you mentioned, something must have shifted in Covid. I remember a big movie reviewer on YouTube name Chris stuckman made a video. He said he’s a jw and wanted to leave for years but couldn’t think of being not able to talk to his family, but thanks to Covid, he wasn’t able to speak to his family much anyway and so he realize, he can live without talking to them, so he went ahead and left for good.

Whaaatttt? Damn, never saw the bread thing coming then again I've been out of the organization 20 years and a lot of changes have been made! I started rocking a bread a couple of months now and loving it! Maybe I'll go back to the meeting! Joking!😂

Back in the 90's I wanted to grow out my beard. But only a mustache was allowed. So I sported a 'Hulk Hogan' type of mustache where the sides were long. Between meetings I let the chin area grow in.
Now it's too little, too late if they thought not being able to wear a full beard was the only thing making people leave that cult. I've been out since '97. This cult looks like a cartoon to me now. 😂😂😂😂
