It's sad to see how he is angry inside but cannot express it and people think he's just nice

Ned Flanders has some crazy lore. He was spanked for 8 months straight as a child and according to the comics, he was the troublemaker who inspired Krusty to become a clown

Well at least he was nice enough to celebrate Ned's birthday that's something

Considering that later on in the series we found out Ned is like 65, so that means the doctor looks so much younger than he really should be lol

Well you should know Flanders is jacked like SUPER STRONG BRO. So this makes alot of sense, he would kill someone if he got angry.

The irony is that this is truly based on how the human brain actually responds to this form of abuse. Abusing children in moments of expression only reinforces that their expressions are “wrong” or “unnatural”. Furthermore parents expressing these forms of abuse as “love” misaligns what real love is for the child and creates a self destructive dynamic in which a person doesnt understand healthy love or how to treat themselves with it. Gotta love it

Honestly had something similar happen to me, i had a lot of anger as a child, and when i expressed this anger i was beat savagely, now as an adult every time i have a moment of anger its quickly followed by me breaking down into tears

Just wait till he snaps. Only happens a few times in the show but man is smart and has enough muscle to make a grizzly subconscious. Theres one small moment during a football game where homer annoys him so he kicks homer out. He does this but lifting homer by the back of his shirt and lifting him off the ground like a toddler. Ned wasn't winded or tired at all bro just moved a damn near 400 pound man down a flight of stairs and 50 feet to the fence. No reaction.

It's pretty shocking when Ned finally gets angry, but in some cases he is right. I remember one episode where he lost everything and blew up.

I know everyone hated Ned but I felt so bad for him. He didn’t deserve all the shit he got.

Edit: Ok I have split opinions here. I’ve watched pretty much the entire show, and my family and some of my friends are also big fans of the show. The characters in the show for the most part, and people I know personally in my life don’t like Ned. So hence what I said, which some agree with and some call me a dumbass. So

This is in fact child abuse. He is traumatized. He pretends to be fine but he isn't. Children learn nothing from abuse. When you think it's "fixed them" or they "learned their lesson" all you have done is put them in a trauma response. Which can look like good behavior but it's just fawning. If you need your kid to learn a lesson use your words like an adult. Don't destroy your kids brain development. If you didn't want to be a good parent don't have kids. Don't beat kids!

All things considered Ned like Homer not just because he was taught to always be kind but also Homer has been very helpful to Ned and he appreciated his help and good deeds

Weird my family used to do a similar type of punishment when I was a kid. Used to get spanked and couldn’t show any anger or too much sadness otherwise it just got worse and I had to pretend like I deserve it. Was so humiliating and dehumanizing. Now I’m 24 and still struggle to express myself.

Surpressing anger for a long time is self-destructive. And when they cannot bottle up that anger any longer, we get disasters.

Express anger in a healthy way. Its just an emotion, the same as happiness and grief.
