The Simpsons S08E08 Hurricane Neddy - Rebuilding Ned's House

Hurricane Barbara viciously strikes Springfield but, by pure chance, the house of Ned Flanders is the only one destroyed. As a result, he begins to lose his faith in both God and the townspeople around him.

Gotta love how it initially gives you a subtle clue that things will go wrong when Ned has to force the door open when he enters the house.

I love how perfectly innocent this starts out, and then degenerates disastrously. Awesome writers.

Only the Simpsons could take what would be the heartfelt ending to any other sitcom and turn it into an even bigger disaster.

I played this on vhs for my grandpa Victor Lundquist while he was still alive.
He was a jack of all trades handyman who built several houses in his life.
A very stoic old-school man who rarely smiled and never laughed.
He started chuckling at the toilet part, scoffed at the load bearing poster, laughing at the electricity, and really lost it when Flanders shut the tiny door on Barney's face.

Man whoever of the writers thought up the idea with that hallway getting narrower is a genius.

This and Grimey's break down perfectly displays the incomptency of Springfield at the expense of the only relatable characters. 90s Simpsons is on another level.

I love how Ned says "I think I've seen enough" to the house he's supposed to be living in from now on.

Wiggum’s justification for fixing the toilet in the kitchen is one of those lines that has stayed with me. Feels indicative of why the world is the way it is.
