Australian scientists have confirmed the discovery of one of the largest dinosaur species ever in Eromanga, outback Queensland.

Formally named Australotitan cooperensis (meaning "the southern titan"), the plant-eating sauropod lived between 92 million and 96 million years ago, when Australia was attached to Antartica, according to a research paper published on Monday (June 7).

It's funny seeing Australotitan cooperensis all over the news at present.
Those interested in Australian palaeontology (like myself) have known for a long time about this titanosaur holotype called "Cooper" being the largest dinosaur ever discovered in Australia. I've been patiently waiting for this titanosaur to be described for over a decade!
So it's awesome to see it finally getting major attention again in the media :)
If you want to see the Australotitan bones, take a road trip out to the Eromanga Natural History Museum in south-west Queensland. It's worth the trip! :D
