If anyone wonders, the pressure of the ocean at the depth of Titanic where the Titan submersible imploded killing those 5 men is around 375 times that of our atmosphere, or roughly 5500-5600PSI. That amount pressure would basically turn you into mist before you even knew what happened, as sad and heartbreaking as their deaths were, if there is any comfort it’s that they didn’t even know what happened. One moment they were in the sub, then faster than you could even blink they were nothing. Zero pain, zero suffering.

It implodes because the pressure inside is lesser than the atmospheric pressure outside. Another thing is you boiled the water in the drum by heating the drum first and there was a lot of steam and then you suddenly cooled it. If you suddenly cool metal which is at high temperature, it will break.
