Seeing this video pop up made me beam with smiles :). I made a retro inspired apron last year which turned out great but have the most basic of sewing skills. I embarked on a summer dress project 2 yrs ago now.. bought truely gorgeous fabric, cut the pieces and hemmed? them but then got completely stumped by the next step in pattern instructions.. I have a bag with 6 pieces of dress tucked away now :( boo hoo. looking forward to this series xx.

This video is such a blessing!! I've been wanting to make aprons as a means of extra money for my family and I have been so lost with the directions. THANK YOU! I'm taking this as a sign =.) God bless

This is going to be so cute . I can't wait for the next installment . I used to make all my aprons, but I havent for awhile, and they were very basic . I want to try to make one with more of a retro feel to it . The patterns in that book are so cute . I'm definately going to go look that up . I'm so pleased about "So Sew Vintage" being back :)

I'm so excited you're doing this series - aprons are SO FUN to make!! I work in a fabric store, and alot of times when we get a fabric I like but I don't know what I want to make, I'll end up making a vintage-inspired apron. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!

i rember when i was younger (like 7) by mum helped me to make an apron because i had just got a new teddy bear and i wanted to carry it around in the pouch of my apron like a baby. hee hee this reminded me of that!

You should organize all your sewing tutorials into one playlist! I hope you make more of them! I loved the Hair flower tutorial, using fabric scraps!!! Such a great idea!!!

This is great. I had actually thought about trying to make aprons for Christmas presents this year. I just need to invent an extra day of the week to do it is all. Maybe this will finally shake off the nerves of taking the scissors to the expensive dress fabric.

That's fabulous! :D What's great with this style is a lot of times you can use scrap material for the accent sections so you get the most out of all your fabric!

I use Freezer paper from the grocery store to trace patterns. It's wide enough for most pattern pieces, or can be taped together. You can see through it to trace well enough (paper side up) if you use a light colored surface underneath. I find the plastic backing on the paper makes it hold up much better then just paper for using it again and again.

If you have a friend who works in a doctor's office the paper they use on exam tables makes great tracing paper.
