I've always struggled with cold water but have stuck with this for a week and it definitely gets easier. I found having a normal shower first then turning to cold to finish makes it easier.

Quick tip for male beginners…. Get a extra big cup and fill with hot/warm water…. Put your junk it it and hold the cup on tight as you submerge yourself into the tub of cold water…. Less painful so might make it more bearable

Thank you for the video! Question: can I take an ice bath right after a workout, when the body is hot? Or is it better to wait a few hours and cool down first?

Can I isolate the cold water to just my lower legs as that is my problem area after running. Ie, have my hot shower first, then turn to cold and let the stream only hit my lower legs? Would that benefit me at all, or do I need to do the whole body and head? Great video. Thank you.

I like the video! One question I'm left wondering is : What qualifies as cold? You see ice baths at 35° F plenty often, but I don't think my shower goes quite that cold.

Hey mate, thanks for the vid! I've recently started having a cold shower at the end of my regular warm shower and have been getting brain freezes. Is this normal and healthy? Will they go away eventually?

I started with 15 seconds of cold shower exposure and have been adding 5 seconds every shower.

So should I perhaps start of with a warm shower, get washed and all, and then turn the water to cold, for say the last 4-5 minutes?

Heyo! Just starting out on the cold exposure journey. Have had cold showers from time to time my whole life especially after workouts to cool down and get the sweat out. I'm also that guy who walks in shorts in the rain and snow. Needless to say, the coldest my shower goes is not exactly very uncomfortable, I love the cold and always preferred it over heat. So what are some ways I can kickstart my progress a little more with slightly colder techniques? Can I simply prolong exposure?

Thanks!

I apologize if this was already answered previously, but are there still benefits from taking a hot shower first to get clean then a cold shower afterwards for several minutes?
