Тhese lands once became the cradle of humanity. But now, they are among the most dangerous places for human life. Barren deserts give way to luscious nature, but some of nature's dangers are greater than the scorching sun. These lands have some of the richest natural resources yet some of the poorest communities in the world. It's hard to imagine a place that is more controversial than this.
But what do we actually know about this vast and mysterious continent?
Did you know that most people have a distorted perception of Africa's size due to flawed mapping?
Is it true that Africa is set to split in two, and this process has already begun?
Could the largest dormant volcano on the continent wake up?
And what are these peculiar giant structures with precise geometric shapes that one can see from space?
Today, we’ll embark on a journey through Africa trying to see it from a quite unusual perspective.

Earth is alive, it goes through changes just like people. It may be getting warmer now but in a few hundred, or a thousand or a million years from now it could become cold again and make a new ice sheet, or every volcano could erupt around the same time and go back to what it was before life was ever created to heal itself, to change. It's nature and it is unpredictable. It's very beautiful and it shows us every day that it is a living entity.

Africa is Eden. Africa is the largest continent in the world. We have so much wealth and we are a beautiful diverse people. We are being exploited by outside nations and traitors who threaten our peaceful way of life. I am a proud South African. I invite you to take the time to explore our beautiful continent. ❤

i was able to live in Nairobi, Kenya fir over a year as a child, it was amazing and i still miss it, people have no idea what poverty or desperation is, what they have to do to eat or have anything, yet they are the most incredible people, always smiling, thanking God just for life, qn and so kind and giving, one of the greatest inspirations of my life and I'd go back in a heartbeat

Great video but the meaning of Kilimanjaro is neither the shining mountain nor the white peak. Kilimanjaro is a Swahili phrase meaning the mountain of relaxation. Kilima means mountain Njaro means relaxing without worries, trust me am a Kenyan and we speak swahili

I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is a very strenuous hike but the 50% oxygen level at the summit make it difficult to climb. While there, I experienced a minor earthquake. I was lying on the ground and felt it fully! Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories from my adventure.

The East African Rift Valley is definitely not a recent discovery. The Rift Valley has long been known for containing some of the oldest Archaeological site on Planet Earth.

I was born in Zambia Livingstone to be exact. Met my husband there and then spent a few years in Kenya and Botswana. Loved my time in Africa and miss it. If you can visit Do so.

Africa has been splitting apart for thousands of years. It used to be attached to the easter US, and the collision started some of the Appalachian mountains maybe 300 million years ago. On a map, one can see where from the Red Sea to the rift lakes, it's coming apart. This things have been happening for a long time. India is ramming into Asia, and the west coast of the US is peeling away. Things keep moving at a huge level. Africa rammed into Europe ages ago, and cause the Alps and the African plate pokes up through the Rock of Gibraltar. Things will keep on moving as long as the center of the Earth is hot.

Despite all the negative comments I got into this documentary and found it to be very interesting, especially all the geographical aspects of it. I've always been facinated by Africa and since I'll never go there then why not enjoy a nice free video that someone took the time to put together? I was brought up to be appreciative of things.

Looking at the size of Africa, it seems like overpopulation is a myth.

Plainly put, “people” don’t want us to know how great Africa truly is😔

I love this video! The only thing I don't like is when it is said it was discovered by (insert some European) like it was not there before and was not discovered by all the people who were there before.

My favorite shows these day's are Documentaries about different Ecosystems and Different Countries and their Diversities. I thought I had hit Utopian vibes when the shows called, The Blue Planet and The Planet Earth series came out. I was so adtounded by so many THING'S that I NEVER KNEW, and wouldn't have ever KNOWN without these AWESOME CAMERAMEN & WOMEN THAT BROUGHT THESE AMAZING DOCUMENTARIES TO US. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH AND DAVID ATTENBOURGH COVERING AND NARRATION OF THOSE SHOWS. I'M STILL WATCHING EVERY SINGLE ONE I CAN FIND, AND THE BEST PART OF THEM ARE THE FACT THAT THEY'RE ALWAYS BACKED BY SCIENTISTS and THEIR VAST KNOWLEDGE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!! AND ALSO, ALISTER FOTHERINGILL WHO PRODUCES & DIRECTES THEM, OR SOME OF THEM.❤

Africa is the Mother of the World. She gave birth to everyone. Everything comes out of her.

Africa is splitting because of continental drift, a Geological concept observed many decades ago. Ii think in the sixties. The earth's crust is divided into several sheets or partitions, essentially "floating" on a fluidity semi-molten or molten core. The continental Drift model is essentially accepted amongst the major geologists in the world.

When I was a child watching Wild Kingdom I would imagine going to all the places they showed. Now I imagine what expense and hassles such trips would entail.
