Before and After - Most Important Changes in Terraria 1.4.4

This has gotta be one of the most high effort quality of life updates in gaming history I swear

a new post-moonlord liquid called shimmer has been added (10 luminite bars + bottomless water bucket = bottomless shimmer bucket)
if you throw an angel statue in it, you get an aether monolith, which is like the celestial monoliths except it makes the background sorta like space but with different stars
if you throw anything with a crafting tree in shimmer (ex. the GPS) it will give you all the items used to make it
if you throw a life crystal, life fruit, or mana star in it, you get new permanent upgrades
stinkbugs are in the game, but idk their spawn conditions (dear god we truly cant escape them)
new paintings that can be found in underground houses with gold chests
mushroom torches are now a thing (1 glowing mushroom + 3 torches = 3 mushroom torches)
if you hit 'quickstack to nearby chests' a cool animation will play where the items in question will float and go into their chests
theres 10 new achievements, most of them are for accomplishing big goals like purifying the entire world or crafting the ankh shield

In my opinion the new item stacking to 9999 instead of 999 is life changing. Since I mostly play ranged and mage I don't have to have my inventory constantly full of mana pots and ammo

The banner and heart lantern hanging From platforms is my favorite Change but all of the other new changes are pretty cool too

theres the new shimmering liquid that is crafted with a bottomless water bucket and luminite at the ancient manipulator

They added a new painting called 'Terra Blade Chronicles', a reference to Xenoblade Chronicles' title screen. The painting features the Terra Blade placed in the same position as the Monado is in the title screen of Xenoblade.
What's more is that the Terra Blade's new projectile looks the exact same as one of the Monado's projectile abilities, 'Monado Purge', does.

The angel statue is now a secret crafting material. You can drop it into the Shimmer Liquid and it will be upgraded into a new item.

Fun fact: the ability to equip things in vanity slots was actually removed in the first instalment of 1.4 Terraria. I'm so glad they're adding it back.

They took out accesories in vanity slots to show us about what power they had over us, but I'm glad they were merciful and brought them back.
