You could replace that cartridge in the filter with some cut to fit foam. I did that for my Aqueon QuietFlow 10 on my 10 gallon quarantine tank since the cartridge plugged up in a day and started to go over the overflow. Plus that way you don't loose your beneficial bacteria.

I like planted tanks, what species of fish are ya planning on keeping? if they are plant safe it might be good to try some easy plants like floaters or java fern. If you use a timer for the lights its easy to do plants.

I'd add a Seachem tidal 55 filter to the tank. It's 250 gallon per hour and will flip the tank 10 times per hour. Best filter best warranty and it self primes.

How were you able to fill the tank with the fish in there? I thought the black stuff in the bottom while you were filling it up were fish. Can someone tell me what it was

why sand with fake plant? and wont the moisture eventually warp the particle board?
