One of my favorite years of pop music. I loved disco as well as rock ‘n’ roll. Couldn’t those two coexist? Why did people have to be on one side or the other?

I was 18 and didn't have a care, sounds like a bob Seger song. I'm now 64 and getting ready to retire. Where did the years go? The music back then was so refreshing and fun. If I could go back I gladly would. My first job at McDonald's paying a whopping $2.30 an hour supported my young lifestyle. I had the 1973 gran Torino and a beautiful gf who also worked there, won't mention her name, could be my wife. I would go back to that time in a minute. BTW i was the first employee of the month at the Midwest Oklahoma store in 1976.

1978 - 1983 was the best 5-year stretch in popular music, in my opinion

Foreigner, Boston, Queen, Genesis, ELO, Fleetwood Mac. I was 15 and just started listening to rock. This year forged my life long taste in music.

I remember being shocked when I realised that "Copacabana" was actually telling a sad story about an aging dancer after her lover was killed, not that you'd realise it from the catchy melody.

First record I bought Kate Bush 'Wuthering Heights'. First LPs my sister bought 'Hotel Californian' Eagles, 'Bat out of Hell', Meatloaf, 'Parallel Lines, ' Blondie, 'Atlantic Crossing', Rod Stewart, of and 'Bloody Tourists' 10cc. Can't remember the order but massive respect for her now.
