in my welding class you couldn’t even leave a nice soapstone out without someone yoinking it; the one time my good irwin vise-grip went missing i just about was ready to call the police until the dumbass who “borrowed” it brought it back to me COVERED in soot and 6010 spatter. he should be glad i didn’t cover it in his brain matter too!

We should all understand why power companies have no sense of humor. People hate them when their power goes out, hate them when they get the bill for the power they used, hate when they ask for more to run the network, hate when lines cause huge fires, hate them for emitting carbon, hate them for charging fees for solar. Power co has every incentive to lay low.

Keep it up. I used to be a Nuclear Operator, and a lot of what you present I have either forgotten or never knew to begin with. For example, transmission; once we synced to the grid, transmission was something we never thought about, only generation. I would like to see more on your posts about the internal working of: devices, entire systems from energy source to electricity production and the % efficiency of EACH step of producing electricity (people are under the impression that generators are 98% efficient ... but looking at all the looses and energy conversions required, they might be shocked to find out a power station is only around 40% overall efficiency. A CAR is around 10% efficient. Anything that isn't electricity will be lost as heat. We need to increase our energy efficiency much faster than our energy production.
