Sewing Vintage Style Trousers, Making 1940s Swing Pants

In this video I'm sewing some vintage style trousers or 1940s swing pants for my holiday wardrobe. These high waisted, wide leg trousers are currently my favourite style so I decided to take a pattern from a current pair of trousers and make some new pieces. Follow along with the making of a wearable mock up (that I now currently seem to live in) which have become my comfy summer travel trousers and a smart pair of semi-tailored trousers that are great for stylish vintage looks.

The dipped waistband was a lovely solution for the first pair of trousers. Looks like you meant it all along. Ladies’ trousers allow such creativity. Traditional male and female tailoring occupy such different universes and have done for centuries. Mantuamakers have a lot more room to dance. :)
