UWM student Emma Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in social work and a minor in aging at UWM. "I knew I wanted to work with older adults before I knew I wanted to be a social worker," said Emma. "A minor in aging is an interdisciplinary grouping of courses that allows students to get a broad view of what the aging population is and how to help them."

The Helen Bader Age and Community Scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing the minor in aging. Scholarships in gerontology at UW-Milwaukee aim to increase the number of people with the knowledge and skills to work with and on behalf of older people.
