Drive, Don't Dive - Split Jerk Technique

To achieve a certain depth in a power jerk, the hips have to sit back to some degree just as they would at that depth in a squat, whereas at the same depth, the hips can be under the bar in a split. So at the heaviest weights, at least, the trunk/hips in a power and split jerk will not actually be identical positions. The point here is the conceptualization to improve execution.

And for the next typical comment, no, I’m not saying to never get low in the split… this is no different from a snatch in which we want to maximally accelerate the bar up, and then get under as low as needed to fix it overhead.

The power jerk + split jerk complex is so useful because it lets you feel that vertical dip and drive and maximal bar elevation first, then apply it immediately to the split jerk.

You guys have been making short-format videos that get straight to the point for so long. These YouTube shorts just seem to work perfectly.
