I love the fact that not only you can speak clear Tagalog, but you also know the subtle nuances of the language which makes you sound like a native. Amazing!

You are insanely fluent at it already. The fact that you understand the jokes and responds correctly in Tagalog already surprised me. That's pretty rare for a non-native speaker.

Just keep in mind, Filipinos are generally nice people but we are not exempted when in comes to petty crimes like pick pocket, scammers etc and not to mention our super hot weather and suddenly it rain. I hope you'll have a great memory exploring the Philippines.

I find it annoying when YouTubers claim that they speak fluent Tagalog when they can only speak a few words they memorized. But this... I'm only at 2 minutes on the video and I'm already super impressed. That's legit fluency right there.

You haven't even stepped into Philippine soil just yet and already you know how to Tagalog. You are very commendable.

I watched to see how fluent you are, but the first few seconds and the way you say Tagalog correctly, 10/10 already. I hope you enjoy your trip to the Philippines!

im filipino, and in the phillipines it is currently at a constant 45 Celsius temperature so when she said be prepared she's serious. bring as many sunblock you can and protective clothing against the sun, direct hit from the sun here is more painful than enduring the heat while wearing a jacket, mabuhay!

Thanks for appreciating our culture and learning our language Jared. If you and your girlfriend plans to visit the country and she's a Columbian, you might want to visit Zamboanga City down in the Mindanao region where they speak broken Spanish with the mix of Visayan dialect - we called the dialect Chavacano. Well, happy that you guys are visiting the Philippines in May, just bring comfy clothes like sandos (sleeveless shirts), shorts and cotton made clothes co'z it's too hot right now here during our summer. Ingat palagi!

Good job! As a native speaker, you’re very clear and coherent. Even throwing some filipino humor! It’s quite challenging to be funny in another language. Kudos!

Just a tip, you can swap out ‘ate’ for ‘tita’ when speaking to elderly women. Same for elderly men with ‘tito’. Shows more respect

Excited for ur trip in the PH, good luck with the heat! 😊

Youre so good at speaking in tagalog, there's still an accent but overall your tagalog is amazinnggg!!! the surprised look on their faces were priceless! I hope you enjoy your stay in the Philippines next month. Its always nice to see Americans or foreigners who speaks tagalog but have never been to the Philippines, finally visit the PH. Tagalog Kurt is currently here in the PH, he's still here i think.
But anyways enjoy your stay, Summer here is really hot, since this is a tropical country, but def the best time to visit the beaches and other tourist spots. Coz PH has a lot to offer! Enjoy and stay safe!

For your 1st time to the Philippines, please be prepared for the humidity. My tip is to not go inside the air-conditioned malls so soon when you are dripping with sweat. I would encourage you to buy those tea towels (but for the body) so you can wipe sweat off your body. Or even bring with you an extra shirt or two when you walk about outside during the day.
A lot of people get ill when the body is exposed from extreme hotness outside to the coolness of the malls.

Matagal na ako nanonood ng mga video mo pero up until now I'm still amazed how fluent you are in speaking our native language. More power ;)

“Putok batok” literally means “ bursting nape/back of neck” and colloquially refers to food high in cholesterol and/ or very fatty, ie potentially will increase your blood pressure (which often can be felt as a throbbing at the nape).

I am really impressed that you answered the seller's joke " buhay pa ba sya" or "is he still alive" referring to your barber, which usually we filipinos joked to someone who is newly cutted hair.

I wish someday you can interview KUYA JAKE. He is american, born and raised in america but may "pusong pinoy". I like his personality and i think you guys are gonna be great friends. Somehow you guys have similar "accent" i must say.
