Glad to see someone being realistic about gear and not having to break the bank. Great job.

I have had 5 of those lanterns for over 25 yrs. Just before we had the huge ice storm in Texas I got them out. Cleaned them up and replaced a couple of wicks. I bought fresh lantern oil. I used all of the lanterns during the 7 day power failure. It was such a comfort to have one in each room.

I have 2 of the Stanley pots. Love them. One item Walmart carries is the pocket bellows. It is so compact but very helpful in starting a fire. Enjoyed your gear review!

I have several pieces shown in this video and use it with gear from 35+ years of camping in my younger years. Thanks for sharing..

Couldn’t agree more with you on these items and values. Been using all of these items for years. Been a Scout leader for over 20 years and 99% of my gear comes from Walmart. Thought about making a similar video on this very subject. I still might for my viewers. Great job ! 👍🏻👍🏻

I recommend the Petzl head lamp with the rechargeable batteries. Been loyal to Petzl for over fifty years. Ciao

another good item are "Dude Wipes" Find them in the toilet paper aisle. Designed for men, unscented. (Just regular wipes, though). Come in a pack or a box of individual packs, like Wet Ones. I have used these to wash with, or to travel. I keep some on me at all times in the little packs. Went into a Walmart bathroom and didn't realize no toilet paper. Used a couple of the packs that I kept in my edc pocket kit. These are amazing.

Great video. You forgot to mention that the Stanley Cook Pot's lid also fits the field cup/mug. I don't buy the dehydrated foods, too expensive, but I do buy the chicken/tuna pouches and the Knorr sides to make my own meals. Thanks for sharing.

Good and honest video. Congrats :D

In MY opinion:
- UCO container & matches: very good
- Spork: I hate that lol. But UCO is a good brand
- Foldable cup: I prefer aluminum so I can use it over the fire.
- Plastic plate: Never used that one. I use the MSR one
- Tent stakes: those small ones don't work well in the forest, make them yourself with a branch.
- Stainless steel cup: I have the GSI one and it's Amazing!
- Stanley pot: Never had one, but heard good things about it. I prefer a pot with a bail. Cups are useless. The split ring trick is GENIUS!
Flask: LOL, always a fun item.
Camilus "big bread knife": I prefer a Kukri style chopping knife.
Tarp: 5x7 is small :(
Coghlan's tissue: OK...
Ozark trail water bottle: "Ozark Trail" is the home brand of Wlmrt nd it's cheap.
Headlamp: Never found a tree with a USB plug to recharge devices. I prefer the PETZL ones you can use with either batteries or rechargeable batteries.
Hiking pole: No opinion on that brand.
The Lantern: They're fun to have! Get the smokeless oil. :)
Backpack: Ozark?
Insulation pad: always nice to have. You can also the flooring for kids' rooms.
BIG water container: Good if you have a big group and/or long stay.

Again, great job with the video!

They had a great ozark trail stainless deep plates, cups, silverware sets that they clearanced a couple yrs ago. I got them at 2 bucks a set. I couldn't find them after a week or 2 was gonna throw a few kits together with them for gifts. I use them stakes with my dd tarps. That cup is great just mark with a dremel and it nests on the bottom of the stanley pot. Then I wrap it all in a reflectix coozy with a fish mouth spreader and some bandanas. Them wannabe moras in the fishing section are decent enough to through one in every vehicle, tackle box, pack, and for 2 bucks each hard to beat. That lil tarp has lived in my truck for years. It has come in handy at work, I think I gave 5 bucks for it. I've had them lanterns for 20+ yrs, they will wear out but when I used to buy em for 3-4 bucks it wasn't a big deal.

I LOVE the 5x7 blue tarp. I've found I can add a 42 gallon contractor bag (Ground cloth) and an SOL 2 person Mylar E-blanket (Blanket) and even a bit of bankline for a complete shelter kit that all fits in the mesh tarp carry bag. It gives me something to sleep under, sleep on and sleep in and even cordage to set it up. 😉

I bought the lantern you showed and had a chance to field-test it yesterday. I have much more expensive lanterns as well, but functionally I can’t see any difference. It works great.

I have also used the hiking stick as tent, or tarp poles, they work well.

Love my little Stanley kit. You should check out the 3 pack of dry bags. Think they are only 9.97 and they are fantastic. I use the blue one to hold my cook kit. Great video!

Some of their stuff is ok . Wish they carried a 32 oz single walled cup or bottle. Have the metal spork more for being able to sterilize it in the coals if needed. Have two of the lanterns. They’ve been through hurricanes and regular power outages. Spent the extra $ and get the red lamp oil. Good video. Have a good one
