Touring Moldova's Dangerous Market in Chisinau 🇲🇩

Join me as we continue our tour of the Central Market in Chisinau Moldova.

After some negotiation with the Director of the market, I managed to get them to agree on letting me film, on the condition that I have a security detail with me at all times.

Concerned that I might get beaten up or in other kind of trouble, they were adamant that it was necessary, so I agreed and set out to continue my visit with my own personal bodyguard.

Amazing foods, and the locals is what makes markets so fascinating to me and this was no exception.

Such a humble people, all Balkan Slavianian countries are so welcoming and ready to help. I'm From Bulgaria and we are almost the same, maybe a bit less communicative because of the situation we live! You was in Bulgaria I watch your videos. Greeting to Moldovanes from Bulgaria <3

Wow! I am from Chisinau, but live now in Russia. When I lived there I hated this place. Every weekend me and my husband went to the market to buy fruits and veggies. Food was always amazing, but the atmosphere…. Crowded, noisy, people who shout at each other. I was always tired and exhausted after visiting the market. But after watching this video I changed my mind. People are so nice and so kind! And the market itself looks much better then in those days. They opened new cool spots (like this one with samsa).
After watching your video I realized that I miss my country so much.
Beautiful Moldova with the best food in the world.

Absolute gold mate. Wonderful footage. It’s very interesting to see in a lot of former Soviet nations, how there is still some sense of paranoia that someone is filming. It’s kind of understandable that legacy still lives on. Thanks for documenting your visit to the market 🙏

Bruh, i just discovered this wonderful channel because i'm going back home to Moldova for the first time in 10 years and i'm bringing my wife with me and she is Colombian. I had to show her how my country looks and how the ppl are just to prepare her for the Culture Shock.
We've been watching all your videos from Moldova and i have to thank you for your amazing job. Your experience made my wife see the real life in Moldova! Best of luck to you on your next adventures!

The "bodyguard" seems to've been over-the-top silliness, *chuckle*.

Moldova is one of the most peacefull place of Europe. You just have to respect people. There s some pickpockets like everywhere around the world but that s not à dangerous place.
People one this market are Nice. I was bying my food there every saturday and never been under preasure or in danger.
I ve been living in Moldova for 4 years and i never been scared because it s a respectfull and friendly people.

I had a lot of fun watching. The lady selling the plaćinke was really friendly and had a great attitude. On the other hand, the fact that she had be to radioed to tend to her business was very surreal. I still don't understand why the market assigned a security guard to watch your every step. In fact, if the authorities of Moldova Tourism watched this video I don't think they'd approve of the market administration's handling of the situation, imagine if every tourist that visited Moldova needed a personal guard, there wouldn't be enough security personnel available. There needs to be a sea change in service attitude if the country ever wishes to become a "normal" tourist destination. I liked your recent Latvian 'weird' Christmas video, but I'm enjoying the Moldova videos even more.
