Damn this is like self-improvement is not necessarily always following others’ advice but more on what’s good and comfortable for you. This is a meaningful message.

This hits hard. I started self improvement because like lots of people, my mental health was bad, I was lonely, I felt like my life was incomplete and overall just didn't feel like I was enough. A lot of self improvement advice was very helpful to begin with and I did make my life a bit better. But I still felt empty. I dove deeper into all this stuff when I realized there are so many toxic self help youtubers that just make you feel like shit because you're not this or that. My gut was telling my their advice didn't apply to my own spirit. "Bro you have to be really muscular and earn 100k a year to get women" I soon realized (along with therapy) that all my problems were routed in how I framed things in my mind and how I felt about myself and the world around me. I was enough. I was always enough. I just needed to realize that. Keep up some good habits but ultimately pursue what really matters to me.

It's like you start with self improvement because of Hamza. The first level of self improvement and then when you are further in your journey you watch him less and you begin to watch Cole Hastings. The next level of Self Improvement. Cole is like the older guy in the story.

Cole, this is EXACTLY what we need to hear and know. Simply throwing a few good habits in our day is a great start, but a large proportion of us are ready, MORE THAN READY, for the next level. Life should be about fulfilment and the meta view, not just these small moments. Sure, be present, but also focus on the big picture and prioritise things like your family history, relationships and volunteering to worthy causes :)

No one ever has figured out life. 💯%. As much self improvement, self reflection, pondering and introspection done. The journey IS the goal. Perhaps this is the way it’s supposed to be. I believe life is about equilibrium in every aspect.

Your storytelling is truly inspiring, I love how channels like yours & pursuit of wonder will write a fictional story to teach a lesson, throughout history this is how humans taught self improvement through myths, fairy tales, etc... Now a days the self improvement community believes you must read non fiction books but that's not true, I eventually want to write fiction books to teach lessons, I've already started in some of my YouTube videos such as "Doomer Hates Himself" I used my creativity to express the emotions I was feeling at that time of self hatred and to help others going through the same thing

I feel like ppl don´t really want to see this at all, like they are scared of feeling lost after hopping on the wave of self improvement only cuz somebody told them to. I think that´s why this video doesn´t have such a reach as it should. Amazing work, Cole. Wish this would be teached in schools. Thank you for another point of view.

I actually shed a tear a little while listening to this inspiring story. That was exactly how I am right now with self-improvement and seeking the next doves after the next.
A truly wonderful and inspirational story and I can't wait to hear more.

Thank you, Cole, for these videos. I am currently on my own path of self improvement, on my way to quit smoking, alcoholism and getting a dopamine rush from anything that I do. Looking back at the point where I was suicidal, smoking regurarly and getting drunk 4-5 times per week, I see that I have improved significantly. Now I am looking forward to going further, to actually discover what feeling good about myself might feel like. And your content helps me stay motivated to work on myself every day. So I just wanted to stop by and express my gratitude for that.

It’s good to adopt good habits and follow goals, but remember to find out the meaning in doing those actions, don’t just blindly do something just because some person on the internet said you should. Instead of limiting yourself to certain things, try to experience everything and see what you like and what you don’t like, and remember not to be so hard on yourself, it’s okay to sit back and relax once in a while. Progress takes time and patience. Thanks Cole for another amazing video 👍

What if, instead of pursuing goals because we believe we're somehow broken and think that reaching those goals will make us whole, we believe we're already good enough and pursue those goals ✨ just because we want to? ✨

This story definitely aligns with my own journey. I spent years pursuing goals that influencers and society at large prescribed to me. But it didn't make me happy - if anything, it made me miserable when I didn't reach those goals. I felt unworthy, incompetent, and not enough.

Only when I started doing the hard work of getting to know myself, and thus deciding what goals were actually valuable to ME, have I been able to feel the freedom and peace I was chasing. Now, I pursue goals because they're fun, they enhance my life, they give me something to do with my existence. Not because my self-worth lies in my ability to reach them.

Cole, I personally can't thank you enough for your videos, you're definately the best self improvement youtuber IMO. This video really resonated with me, I've felt my self falling into that trap recently and felt more lost than before I started my self improvement journey. Again, thank you!

Good points there. In a nutshell, the endgame is about finding your own solution to the problems of existence, and no adopting it from some collective or guru.

I think it’s a problem listening to a lot of people and not validating what you want, bc always following advices that don’t relate your true self can destroy you, I destroyed myself once bc all of the advices, I did everything, quit school, money …. But I end up destroyed, I hope I can help people get out of this route.
It’s important to you stick to your beliefs and routine, and adapt with people’s beliefs. But not following their expectations

Thanks so much for making this, Cole. I really needed a reminder of the bigger picture beyond the self-improvement things I've been trying to implement. Most of the time, I forget the underlying reasons for my desire for self-improvement, and this video made me feel a lot better about myself and life in general.
