Nice animation, but this is not quite true. You should always have flight safe mode on, even if you don't think it is important. Even though there may be a potential risk of interference with the radio altimeter, commercial pilots tend to rely on the barometric altimeter instead.

If someone forgets to turn on flight safe mode, this can lead to a static on the radio due to interference. Nice vid!
