There's a ratio of inside rim width to tire width that gives maximum tire volume. If the rim's too wide, the tire is overstretched. If the rim's too narrow, you get the "lightbulb profile."

I’m surprised that size fits an SL7! How much clearance do you have left with these tires?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. A 30mm tyre actually wides 33mm? I also want to buy a 32mm some model tyre but it must wide over 34mm etc? In this case, my frame and fork cannot hold it.

I have a pair of these 30mm Vittoria Corsa Pro on hookless rims that are 24mm wide internally and measured them 32mm. I had no luck (to say the least) trying to set them up tubeless though. First few days were fine, but then pressure loss was too quick. Sealant kept seeping through the sidewalls (the non reinforced area; Milkit and OrangeSeal sealant). Running the front tire with an inner tube now and changed the rear tire. The Corsa Pro shows wear on the cotton sidewalls and the tread (fine cracks). I’m not convinced of this tire although I was truly determined to like them.

How much clearance is left on the rear wheel? Thinking of building an SL8 with reserve 52|63, which are 34mm external on the rear

I’m using 28c Schwalbe Pro One, and it goes 31.5 for front and 31 for the rear

Good example of rim being too wide for the tire; Look at that thread on top it is flat! So is the sidewall. The tire profile almost looks square. This tire profile will cost rolling resistance and handling smoothness.

I used to do this, but as with all things wheel, theres too many variables for it to mean anything.

I will never understand y people care what size the wheel comes in at. Almost Everyone is mesuring the extra width of the sidewalls instead if the actual tread that u ride on. And of course their number r different from rider to rider, most of us have different wheels and tires
