Better known as “Professor Pia,” the native New Yorker and licensed master social worker has spent years engaging with diverse communities through her work. The New York University Silver School of Social Work professor is more than a scholar serving academia.
Outside the lecture hall she’s a radio personality. Every month over 800,000 listeners tune into the segment, “Mental Health First Fridays,” on the Caribbean Power Jam’s talk show “The Reset,” where she brings awareness to mental health, healing from social trauma, restorative justice, self-care and more.
