Elizabeth Woodville, born in 1437, married King Edward IV in 1464, causing a stir due to their secret union. As queen, she navigated court politics to protect her family. After Edward died in 1483, her son Edward V was usurped, and her children were declared illegitimate. Seeking sanctuary, she ensured her daughter Elizabeth of York married Henry VII, uniting the houses of York and Lancaster. Elizabeth Woodville spent her final years in Bermondsey Abbey and passed away on June 8, 1492.
