Upgrading HVAC in Manufactured Homes & Trailers. What's your options?

preview_player
Показать описание
Most manufactured homes get the bare minimums which typically leads to very inefficient HVAC systems. Electric furnaces are power eaters drawing tons of electricity every time the thermostat calls for heat.

Secondly, the ductwork is typically high static which means slapping any ole system in could lead to bigger issues. We go through all the options and what Joshua's favorite matchup for a mobile home furnace to save the customer money and have a comfortable home!

my furnace is from 1988. Rodents got into it, I'm afraid of the cost to replace it. Not many people doing mobile home replacements. Will watch your other videos and thank you so much for explaining things clearly.

I’ve had a lot of success removing the existing electric furnace in a mobile home and installing a multizone ductless system. Sold a daikin 20 seer/5 zone on a double wide s few months ago. Our quote was pretty close to an inverter system changeout. Customer loved them

Just watched your video. I am wordering if a a mini-split system will work in a 1968 50x12 trailer.
I had a Mistubishi at my previous residence. Loved it.
Thank you,

Nice shout out to Bosch. They are the only brand I deal with that gives you a full warranty on the IDS outdoor unit even if you don’t use their coil or air handler. The M15 system is a great choice for an E7 furnace.

Im having the problem of getting HVAC companies in my area not wanting to upgrade my system to anything but a single-stage system have had several refuse to put in a heat pump and if they do they wont honor the warranty. Had an energy audit done found out I'm 97% Based on my total square footage, my total air infiltration was 1, 232 cfm, which i was told is very great for a home as old as mine and its size (2743sqft triple wide manufactured home built in 2005) they also tested my duct system to determine total leakage to the outside while the system is operating. my house has a 4 ton system that blows 1, 800 cubic feet/minute. Of the total capacity, the duct system was leaking 42 cubic feet/minute or 3% of the total capacity, meaning my duct system is 97% efficient. My duct system has been upgraded to support a 5 ton residential air handler all of my ducts are on the ground in the crawl space. Main line is a 20-in trunk flex line with a bunch of 14 inch supply lines reduced down to 12inch crossovers.

We had a 3 ton Coleman installed in 2015 outside and inside, central AC/heat. Last summer had to resolve the A coil inside. But man this summer is killing us. Today was 93 outside in south texas and inside our double wide is 81°. Hunny and I cleaned the fins outside this evening but what we are finding weird is the house will cool down to 72 over night and in the mornings you can feel the vents are cold and air is coming out great. But by afternoon in the heart of the day, I can only feel the air coming out of the vents closer to the floor and the air isn’t cold, neither is the vent. And the temps rise inside to almost unbearable.

Hi thanks for the info, I have a 1997 single mobile home with a heating system that works fine in the winter. I hired a technician to install an air conditioner in the unit. The new installation is not working properly. In the summer when the temperature outside is 100 degrees, the house will not get below 85 degrees and will not cool enough. What do you think could be the problem? Incompatible equipment or wrong installation?
I would greatly appreciate a response, thank you

I live in a double wide in the south in Florida and I have a split unit 2.5 ton single stage. It is very not efficient. The start up is 80 A and 11 A to run. What do you recommend for a home that’s 1360 ft.² that’s manufactured? Recommend a package unit instead of a split unit.

Thousand square feet double wide in Arizona. Electric AC, propane heat.
Desperately wish I could bring down my heating/cooling bill and abandon leaking vents. (Nobody wants to go under a modular home in Arizona. Snakes and black widows for sure). So I wish I understood what you're telling us.

We have a 920 sq ft mobile. 1999 with a 2 ton furnace a/c unit. Wondering if anyone has replaced just the vaporizer and heat pump, or should the entire system be replaced. Any input would be greatly appreciated. It’s an electric furnace Intertherm.

Where is the thermostat in a manufactured home that tells the air conditioner to go on? I'm paying so much for my A/C now. I want to find out why my AC keeps going on. I replaced windows and doors that are double Payne.
