There are no permanent allies, only permanent interests. This is an alliance of convenience

Frankly it would be shocking if they weren't becoming closer allies

The old adage "The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend" is proving true once again. As long as Russia and PRChina has a common rival to worry about (the US) they'll stick together for the moment. The very liberal Third French Republic used to be allied to the autocratic Russian Empire all because they share the same enemy: Germany...

Saying China and Russia are democracies is like saying the US is a force of peace in the middle east and south america.

Chinese-Russian relations have not changed much they are just being more vocal since both want to counter the USA (and it's NATO and Indo-Pacific allies) and recently the USA (and some allies) have been giving them a hard time.

US itself has promoted autocrats around the world. Not sure if US contributed to democracy or human rights.

3:17 precisely what China means about "non-interference policy" is more about internal/domestic affairs instead of diplomatic. Since China claims sovereignty over Taiwan island, it is always seen as China's domestic affair, from China's POV.

Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were also good buddies and trading partners in the 30s, but the relationship was rather one sided as Germany needed Soviet imports more than the Soviet Union needed German imports.

Well multipolar worlds are more "active" to say the least. The static conditions of post soviet era are gone.

You guys are getting a little fear-mongery lately. You used to be a bit more impartial, and not use words like "worry" in the title. That's a very partisan way to present something that is supposed to be "just the facts", which is what you always stood for in the past.

I believe that a multipolar order might be good. But then there definitely needs be a stronger Europe but also stronger Brazil, India and Nigeria. I believe those nations have potentials to become superpowers in their own right.
Then we have other multinational cooperations like Mercosur and ASEAN but that might be more of a wet dream of mine ^^
