Thank you for the question. The new camera does a good job in controlling rolling shutter effects lie you described. I picked up an R8 and was using it to shoot some indoor sports. 20fps was terrific, but I noticed banding in my images.
Unfortunately anti-flicker shooting is grayed out as an option with the electronic shutter, and first curtain electronic at 6fps is too slow.
I'm a bit frustrated by this.

So, this is officially replacing the R then Rudy kept saying "... joins the RP" without any mention of the R. SO, the rumors were true after all. I was hoping this will replace the RP and we'll get an R replacement with a 33 megapixel.

40 is to fast for my surfing shots and 6 is to slow.

Why is this camera so big? Sony A7c is much smaller with IBIS.
