As soon as i saw the pricing for the 7700XT vs the 7800XT, I thought it was a ploy from AMD to upsell people to the 7800XT instead. The 7700XT needs to be $400 to be competetive and I think it will drop in price pretty quickly once the initial sales settle down.

They released the 7700 XT at $450 to make existing stock of the 6800 seem worth purchasing. I suspect we’ll see the 6800’s price fall to $400 or less pretty soon. The 7700 XT’s price isn’t going to be corrected until the 6800 sells out, I suspect.

AMD pulled an Nvidia and shifted each name up one tier. This should've been a 7700 non XT, the 7800XT should've been the 7700XT.

Used to be that you had to pay premium as you went up the stack, which at least made some sense given diminishing returns ans such.
It seems we've made a full 180 to where you now start having to pay a premium the lower you go, as companies are desperately trying to push you towards spending more money on "better value" products.
We've gotten to the point of "Intel, please save us!", which just seems... insane in and of it self.

Depressing thoughts aside, great work as always!

I got the 7700XT in EU. It's 450-470€ here, while 7800XT is whole 100€ more expensive: 560€ and up. I aimed for something in 3070 performance range, but I see no point in spending 430€ for 4060 Ti, when I can get performance equivalent of in between 4060Ti and 4070 for 20€ more.

Big shout out from Canada!!! Love the reviews, i watch them all. RTX 3090s have been available on the used market here now in the $850-1100 range. I was lucky enough to score one for $800 back in Jan 2023. I wish you guys would include the 3090 in these new GPU tests so we all could see how they hold up against the new cards. Now that ETH mining is done a lot ppl have been gaming on 3090s so it might be a nice addition to the line up? Keep up the great work guys!

I love my XFX 7900XT Black. It's overclocked faster than the reference 7900XTX and doesn't need the new power adapter, making a perfect upgrade with a 5800x3d with my 750W PSU. Starfield is brilliant on this combo! Averaging over 80 fps.
