Your version looks more 90s than the 90s version itself 🤣🤣
It really was very beautiful

😮 This really shows there's nothing holding you back from being able to make something astounding in Blender

Man, I've been trying to study 90s anime aesthetics for a while and apply them to my own work, and I'm a loyal Grease Pencil user, so this makes me overly excited. The "90s anime aesthetic" label is everywhere nowadays but I think you're one of the very few that actually manages to capture it, and you're full of useful tips and tricks. I love this, thanks for sharing <3

90s e 2000s animes left an empty space that nothing could ever fill again...

"less polished" but it looks more realistic - here is the thing why 90s anime often are described as "more beautiful" or "better": Real eyesin the real world never see anything "pixelsharp" but the animations are presented as pixel sharp thus the more filigree and the more "polished" it becomes, the further away from reality it is. Not saying things should be blurry, but there is a threshhold of sharpness and polishing that says at one point "Yapp, no matter how realistic they do it, it looks fake". Let me boldly state it is our subcinciousness that always compares what we see to our experiences and our experiences (usually) are from the real world, this whole unsharp blurry mush of impressions rather than from fineline art.

This looks great and the compositing tips are much appreciated. I would love a breakdown of the actual animating in gp.

Best work by far. Not that everything else isn't good but you did get me with the recreation at the beginning!
I go by the idea that great artist can make anything look good, the artist is 90+% and the medium and software fills in the rest.

this is insane dude... also just thinking about how with just a little modeling, you can fly cameras and objects around and make yourself stuff to trace...

and considering what you can do with AI tools that can turn 2d into 3d files ... damn

you know what. ima challenge myself as well, i will actually try to touch the blender software for more than 1 day in a row instead of daydreaming about making amazing things in blender...
