“Okay, but can you make sure *none* of that, including the tip or delivery fee, get to the actual person delivering the food? Thanks!”

I love food delivery apps. Every time I can't decide what to do for dinner, I go onto one of them, find something I really want, get to the checkout page where they tell me what the total's going to be after all the fees, and then say "eh, I'll just get something out of the fridge." Saves me a ton of money on eating out.

The funny thing is that $10 sandwich is actually a $7 sandwich if you get it directly from the restaurant. Food app automatically adds to the cost of the items before they even tac on the fees 😅

because of these outrageous services, In my shop we have reverted back do it old school. we all agree on where we want food from, someone volunteers to go fetch it and every one else splits the cost of the runners lunch. We all get the food we want, accurate, and the guy making the run gets a free lunch.

it works, try it fam.

3 more actual fees he missed (I've paid for all 3 of these):
1. Gas prices went up fee
2. Your order is heavy fee
3. Local ordinance fee - literally means the government passed a law to make them do something, and they're going to charge their customers a fee until the law is repealed.

Yeah ordering food nowadays is super easy but definitely an inconvenience

Tipping culture is starting to make me so angry.

How can these companies so blatantly gouge us then turn around and go, "btw can you make sure my employee gets a living wage thanks." Mind-boggling.

"what if I pick it up myself?"
"Then the price goes down from 75.81 to 15 bucks"

"You sure are asking a lot of questions."
"So?"
"So that's a $20 fee for using customer support."

I love that these sketches have basically become a way for Ryan to vent

Accurate...
DoorDash, Arby's = $25
UberEats, Arby's = $31
If I go there myself = $14
Kinda ridiculous...you shouldn't be aiming to make as much or more than the places you deliver for.

"FIne I'll take your sandwich for 87 dollars."
"Thank you, here's your order"
"This isn't what I ordered"
"But its FOOD. You're being really selfish and greedy right now. Be grateful for once."

The amount of times I’ve gone to use a delivery app, got to the checkout page and decided not to proceed because of the horrible added fees. Makes whatever is the the cupboard suddenly much more appealing.

I remember the first time I used a food app that offered my first delivery free. Then it told me my first delivery for a $5 sandwich was going to come out to $18. I deleted the app and walked the 5 blocks. Great apps to promote getting out of the house though I guess.

I like how the delivery app was genuinely angry that he was thinking about not using him so he raised the price.

I’m convinced that these Food Delivery Apps are just a social experiment to see how willing people are to pay outrageously high prices for mostly lower-quality food without any chance to send the food back if the order is wrong or badly cooked.

Oh wow! I was definitely not expecting a Fefe Dobson reference. Got a chuckle from me 😆

I love the tipping logic. That's how I always feel. Why I am asked to give a bigger tip because the restaurant doesn't pay their employees enough?
