Newt Gingrich is a man you may have never heard of, but his political legacy is unmatched as someone who has changed, arguably destroyed, Congress forever. This is how he did it.

I am old enough to see when things weren't this way. As a 63 year old man this polarized enviroment is something that seems recent. It really did start in the early 1990s. This whole "conservative movement" seems like it began on talk radio, than was enhanced as the internet expanded and eventually caught up with television and social media. It is as if everything is political and its all biased.

America use to be a lot more bipartisan before this. Now we can't even elect a Supreme court Justice with 60% approval.

Here's the problem.

We've reached the point where we've each presumed the other side is at fault and has nothing but bias, and that you can't have an honest conversation because the other side will blame your team. A Republican will blame Obama and say he race-baited. Dems will blame Trump. Heck, my gut feeling is to distrust your information because you pin the blame squarely on a person on 'my team'. It feels like every story has its own spin and bias, and that its nigh impossible.

Unfortunately, I'm old enough, and nerdy enough, to know who this ghoul is 😖

Newt Gingrich was the best speaker in my lifetime. He actually got Congress to pass 12 appropriations bills in 1997. I wish he would have been Trumps running mate.
